Brantford Red Sox Release 2022 Schedule

BRANTFORD, ON - The Brantford Red Sox are pleased to release the schedule for their upcoming 2022 Intercounty Baseball League (IBL) season. The Brantford Red Sox were founded in 1911 and are 15 time IBL Champions. The IBL is one of the world's longest running baseball leagues, with the upcoming season marking the IBL's 103rd. 

As previously announced, the 2022 IBL regular season commences in the middle of May and concludes on August 21st. Each team will play an expanded 42-game schedule (up from the league's traditional 36),  with 21 games at home and 21 on the road. The Guelph Royals return to the IBL after pausing operations last year. And the 2022 IBL schedule is balanced, with each team playing the others 6 times in total (3 at home, 3 on the road).

Some highlights of Brantford's 2022 schedule include:

• Brantford opens the season on the road in Welland on Thursday May 19
• The Brantford Red Sox home opener takes place the next evening, Friday May 20, hosting the Hamilton Cardinals
• The majority of Brantford's home games take place on the weekend - with ten Friday 8 pm starts, three Saturday 8 pm games, and four Sunday 2 pm matinees
• Brantford's longest homestand of the season is five games - from June 17 to July 1
• The Brantford Red Sox once again host the Hamilton Cardinals on Canada Day
• Brantford's regular season wraps up in Barrie on Sunday August 21
